Miles Moorhouse - President 2006 - 2008.
Born in Haslingden, Lancashire, in 1957, Miles moved to Biggar in 1986 to take up the post of Purchasing Director with Scottish Healthcare Supplies. He had no direct link with rugby until his move to Scotland but soon became a keen supporter of BRFC. Wishing to make a contribution to the Club, he joined the Committee as Honorary Secretary in 1998 for a six year period before being elected as Vice President of the Club for seasons 2004/2006. Miles became President of the Club at the AGM in 2006.
Miles is married to Yvonne and has two children, Leah and Callum. All are fanatical supporters and are actively involved in the Club in some capacity - player, fund raiser or caterer. Miles is ambitious for the Club and would like to see both the Youth and Senior Sections develop. For this to be achieved, he says, a more robust financial infrastructure must be implemented.
He remembers various high points during his association with the Club but, not surprisingly, quotes promotion to Premier I as the main one. The low point was relegation to Division III following a defeat at East Kilbride.
On his retiral at the end of his term as President in 2008 he has decided to remain on the Committee for a further year, as is his right.
