Biggar Colts

Biggar Colts is for players aged between 16 and 18 years old. The Colts train twice a week on a Tuesday and Thursday starting from 6.45pm and play every Saturday, competing in a number of leagues: the Edinburgh U18 League, the National Cup and the East of Scotland Cup which involves both Edinburgh and all Border Clubs.

The Colts have qualified coaches in the form of Ian 'Yogi' Barr and David 'Muz' Murray and provide a structured developement for all players. High acheiving players also join the Hypers Squad that the club are currently providing and are taken through the more advanced technical points of rugby under the guidance of Head Coach and Development Officer Antony Posa.

Players performing well are also frequently picked for Edinburgh and Glasgow U'16, U'17 and U'18 representative rugby. In the past Biggar have provided a large number of young players for these outfits, a few in fact going on even further to represent their country at their particular age level.

The Colts setup provides the perfect stepping stone into senior rugby for the boys and the vast majority of senior players currently playing at Biggar have progressed through the age grades from mini's right upto the Colts before embarking upon third, second and even first team rugby.

The Colts also have a proud history, consistently competing at the tops of their leagues they have won in the past both the National Cup in 1994 aswell as more recently the Edinburgh League in 2005.
